If this event is sold out and you'd like to be put on the waitlist, please email us at info.autismfunbayarea@gmail.com THE OMER QUARTET Distinctive among todays young string quartets, the Omer Quartet won First Prize in the 2017 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, and holds the Helen F. Whitaker Chamber Music Chair of YCA. It makes debuts during the 2018-2019 season in the Peter Jay Sharp Concert of YCA in New York at Merkin Concert Hall, and in Washington, D.C. at the Kennedy Center. The quartet came into prominence in 2013 when it received Grand Prize and gold medal at the Fischoff National Competition. It has also received Top Prize at the 2017 Premio Paolo Borciani Competition in Italy, Second Prize at the 2017 Trondheim International Competition in Norway, and Special Prize at the 2016 Bordeaux Competition in France. Join us for fantastic music in a relaxed and "all behaviors welcome" setting! Hosted by Autism Fun Bay Area and SF Live Arts by St. Cyprians Church in San Francisco, this unique event is the first to blend the Inclusion and Azure Family Concert series. We welcome individuals and families with Autism and developmental disabilities along with our neurotypical friends. Visiting artists invoke are sponsored by the St. Lawrence String Quartet's Emerging String Quartet Program at Stanford. invoke is remarkable group from Austin has roots in the great Quartet tradition, but explodes the boundaries of the repertoire by including the banjo, mandolin and vocals in their performances alongside their violins, viola and cello. invoke's repertoire weaves together traditions sounds from across America including bluegrass, Appalachian fiddle tunes, jazz and minimalism. Equally at home in a collaborative setting, invoke has appeared with musicians from genres at complete opposite ends of the spectrum -- from chamber rock powerhouse San Fermin, to indie sensation Never Shout Never, to DC beatboxer/rapper/spoons virtuoso Christylez Bacon.
